DR. GONG PING (G.P.) YEH

Dr. Gong Ping (G.P.) Yeh is a high energy physicist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory of the US Department of Energy.  Born in Taiwan, he received education from international high school in Okinawa, MIT BS, Caltech MS, MIT PhD.  He is an American Physical Society Fellow and Okinawa Goodwill Ambassador. Dr. Yeh’s work and contributions include the discovery of the Top Quark, pioneering large scale super computing using Linux, and creating new Particle Therapy centers for treating tumor patients in Illinois, Taiwan, and other countries.  He served as a member of the Republic of China Taiwan’s Presidential Science and Technology Advisory Committee and as Special Advisor to Japan’s Minister of Science and Technology Policy to create Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology.  He is invited to the Science and Technology in Society Forum, the World Science Forum, and other gatherings of leaders worldwide for solving the world’s biggest challenges including energy, water, food, health, environment, and education.  He is enjoying high energy physics and detectors for future Lepton Colliders to further understand our Universe.  His research and interests in sustainable energy include wind, solar, biofuels, electric vehicles, and improving energy efficiencies.  In recent years, he has also focused on Accelerator Driven System and Thorium energy as a new source of energy.  Dr. Yeh has been serving internationally as an advisor for sustainable energy in many countries.
